• Fit recommendation (visual-based): This mat is designed as a slow-feeding placement for single-dish portions. Based on the product images and typical mat proportions, it is best suited for small-to-medium dogs (we recommend for dogs up to roughly 35 lbs) — examples: Pugs, French Bulldogs, Beagles, Corgis, and similar breeds. For large breeds (Labrador, Golden Retriever, etc.) this mat may be too small for very large bowls or multiple-dish setups.
• When to choose 1-piece vs 5-piece: Pick 1-piece if you need a single mat for one feeding spot. Pick 5-piece if you want spares, one for each feeding area, or replacements for a multi-pet household.

How to check the fit in 2 minutes:

1. Measure the top of the bowl you normally use across the widest point (in inches).
2. Place that bowl on the floor where you feed and allow about 1 inch of space all around for the mat’s textured rim to be effective.
3. If your bowl plus 1 inch on each side fits comfortably in the feeding spot shown in the product images, the mat will work well. If you need mats for multiple spots or backups, choose the 5-piece set.

Quick examples: Most small/medium dog bowls are about 5–7 inches across; the mat is shown sized to pair well with those bowls. For very small toy-breed bowls or very large family-size bowls, use the measurement steps above to confirm compatibility.
