- Measure your dog lying naturally: from nose to base of tail (not tip of tail).
- Add 6–8 in to that length for a comfortable stretch — choose the bed size with internal length at least this long.
- Measure chest width across the widest point and add 2–3 in to pick a bed wide enough to turn around.
- If your dog sleeps curled, allow 4–6 in extra length; if your dog sleeps fully stretched, allow 8–10 in extra.
Quick example: a dog that measures 35 in nose-to-base-of-tail likely fits an XL. If you’re between sizes, pick the larger size for extra room.
