- Recommended fit: small-to-medium dogs up to approximately 40 lbs — for example, French Bulldogs, Corgis, Beagles, Boston Terriers. Not recommended as a primary restraint for large breeds like Labradors, Golden Retrievers, or German Shepherds.

How to confirm this belt will work for your dog:
1. Measure chest girth (widest part of the ribcage, just behind the front legs). If your dog's chest girth is under ~26 in, this adjustable belt is likely suitable.
2. With your dog sitting in the car, attach the belt to your dog's harness D-ring and clip the other end to the vehicle seat-belt anchor or buckle. Adjust the slider so your dog can sit and lie down comfortably but cannot reach the front seat or move freely around the vehicle. - Quick fit test: Clip the belt to your harness and seat anchor, set length so your dog can sit naturally and lie down, then check that the dog cannot jump into the front seat. Shorten for less movement, lengthen for more freedom to change position.
- If your dog is heavier than ~40 lbs, has a very large chest girth, or is an active chewer/jumper, consider a heavy-duty tether system made for large breeds instead of this lightweight adjustable strap.
