How to choose and measure for a good fit
- Estimate daily water need: dogs typically drink about 0.5–1 ounce per pound per day. (Example: a 30 lb dog drinks ~15–30 oz per day, which is about 2–4 cups.)
- Decide refill frequency: pick a size that holds at least one day's worth of water for your pet(s) or more if you prefer fewer refills. Large (1.85 gal) ≈ 240 oz; Small (0.85 gal) ≈ 109 oz.
- Count pets: add each pet's estimated daily need to get household total and choose the size that covers that amount for the desired number of days.
Quick examples: a single small dog (≤20 lbs) or a cat will usually be fine with the Small model; households with multiple pets or medium-to-large dogs will prefer the Large model. Remember to clean the pump and replace filter chips about once a month for best performance.
