- Measure your dog's muzzle/head width at the widest point (across the cheekbones) in inches — this should be smaller than the bowl's top footprint (L × W).
- Check bowl depth (height) if your dog has a short muzzle or uses paws while eating — deeper bowls (higher H) slow feeding more but may be harder for very short-muzzled pets.
- Use the recommended weight ranges above as a guideline — if your dog is heavier or has an extra-large head, choose a variant with a larger top footprint (e.g., 3 layers G–H or 4 layers).
