Quick fit checklist:
- Measure your dog’s shoulder height: from the floor to the highest point of the shoulder (in inches).
- Measure your dog’s body width: the widest point across the shoulders/chest.
- For comfortable passage, choose a door where the opening height is at least 2 inches taller than your dog’s shoulder height and the width is 1–2 inches wider than the dog’s body width.
- Frame thickness is 1.6 in — this is the door frame depth; the product includes a cut-out template to guide installation.
Example usage: If your dog’s shoulder height is around 10–12 in and body width is under 10 in, the S size will usually fit. If your dog’s shoulder height is closer to 12–18 in and body width under 13 in, choose the L size.
