- Measure your dog's muzzle width: place a ruler across the widest part of the snout (just below the eyes). If your dog has a typical small/medium muzzle (common in the breeds above), it will be able to reach into the bowl comfortably.
- Check eating posture: while your dog is standing, observe if they eat comfortably from a low dish. This product is low to the ground and suits dogs that do not require an elevated feeder.
- Portion test: this bowl is intended for single-meal servings for small/medium dogs. If a single meal for your dog is very large, divide into portions or feed two smaller servings.
- If your dog is stocky, heavy-headed, or over ~30 lbs: We recommend a larger, deeper slow-feeder bowl to ensure comfortable access and stable portions.
