How to confirm this fits your dog
- Put your dog in the car where they normally ride (seat or booster).
- Measure from your dog's harness D‑ring (on the back) to your car's seatbelt buckle — that distance should be less than or equal to 28.3 in for full extension. For comfortable movement, we recommend the distance be about 2–4 in shorter than the maximum so your dog can sit, stand, or lie down without excess slack.
- Check your car's seatbelt buckle slot: the metal tab on this product is 0.83 in wide, so ensure your buckle accepts a tab about that width (most standard buckles do).
- If your measurement is under 17.7 in, the belt will still secure but will be near its shortest setting; if it's over 28.3 in, this tether may be too short for comfortable use.
Fit guidance: This adjustable tether is suitable for most small and medium dogs and many compact large‑dog setups where the harness D‑ring sits within the measured range. Example breeds commonly compatible: small breeds (Pugs, French Bulldogs, Dachshunds), many medium breeds (Beagles, Cocker Spaniels), and some compact large breeds when used with a low D‑ring harness.
