- Quick fit checklist: If your pet weighs 8.8 lb or less and can comfortably curl into a small backpack (see product images), this carrier is a good fit.

How to measure your pet to be sure:
- Weigh your pet on a home scale (or vet scale). If ≤ 8.8 lb, proceed.
- Measure length: With your pet standing, measure from the base of the neck (where the collar sits) to the base of the tail.
- Measure chest girth: Measure the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs.
- Final check: Your pet should be able to sit comfortably with head extending through the top opening and have room to turn slightly. If your pet meets the weight guideline and these posture checks, the M carrier will fit.
- Need a rule of thumb: If your pet is similar in size to a Chihuahua or Toy Poodle and weighs 8.8 lb or less, choose this carrier. If your pet is noticeably larger or heavier, consider a larger carrier.

Check the dimensions in the description, then compare with your pet. For beds, measure nose to base of tail and add 6 to 10 inches. Our size guide has charts for beds, collars, harnesses and clothing.
