- Measure body length from the base of the neck (shoulders) to the base of the tail.
- If your pet sleeps curled, measure chest to tail base and compare to the mat's shorter side; choose a size with at least 2–4 in extra for comfort.
- If your pet sleeps stretched out, add 4–6 in to their body length to pick a mat that allows natural stretching.
Tip: compare your pet's measured body length to the table dimensions — pick the size that gives a few extra inches so your pet can curl or turn comfortably.
