- Measure length from the base of the neck (where collar sits) to the base of the tail — this gives the length to compare with the bed's L dimension.
- Measure the widest point (shoulders or hips) for width to compare with the bed's W dimension.
- If your dog stretches out to sleep, choose a bed at least 4–6 in longer than their measured length; if they curl up, a bed close to their length works fine.
- Use the weight and breed guidance in the table as a quick sanity check.
