- Measure length: from the base of the neck (where the collar sits) to the base of the tail — record in inches.
- Measure width: at the widest point (usually shoulders or hips) — record in inches.
- Fit guideline: choose a mat that is at least 4–6 inches longer than your dog's length so they can lie comfortably. If your dog curls when sleeping, add ~6 inches for extra comfort.
- If you're between sizes, pick the larger size so your dog has room to stretch.
